How to Sync iMessage in iPhone, iPad and Mac OS X. With iMessage, fellow iOS and OS X users can exchange messages with ease using the Internet. Messages sent can be text, images, documents, and even video. Ease the exchange of data makes iMessage as a favorite way of sending files in a single network.

If you are the owner of an iPhone, iPad, and Mac it's likely not every message iMessage sync correctly. Especially for iPhone owners who use the phone number as the Caller ID, iMessage messages usually will not show up in the Messages iPad or Mac.

How to sync iMessage messages at any Apple device is actually quite simple. In short you have to use the same Caller ID on each device so that consistent message exchange in which the receiver and the sender of the message is always the same. If the explanation here is less clear, here are the steps sync iMessage on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac.

iMessage in iPhone Settings
Go to Settings> Messages> Receive At> Caller ID and use iCloud email as Caller ID. Do not forget to turn off the Send As SMS because SMS messages can not be taken to other Apple devices.

Although using the phone number has its own advantages in which the recipient can reply using SMS, use the phone number as the Caller ID will complicate the process of synchronization. This is because you can not use the phone number as the Caller ID on the iPod touch, iPad and Mac.

iMessage settings on the iPad and iPod touch
How to determine the Caller ID on the iPad and iPod touch is similar to the iPhone. Go to Settings> Messages> Receive At> Caller ID and select a previously used email on the iPhone as the Caller ID.

Some people like to use a couple of emails to Receive At. Instead just use a different email because email will not be merged into a single conversation on iMessage.

Setup iMessage on Mac
Do the same thing for Mac. Use the email that was previously used on the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch.

When all the settings are correct then the received message will be the same on every device. This synchronization process can simplify a lot of things. Switching from one device to another to continue the conversation becomes very easy. I often continue talks with fellow writers MakeMac from Mac to iPhone depending on the situation.
