Colleagues at the University of Colorado School of Medicine had no idea James Eagan Holmes was the shooter in theaters Aurora, Colorado. This thin-brained students have a high interest in the field of genetics and nerve. When the shooting occurred, he was in the process drop out of the Department of Neuroscience at the University of Colorado, where he enrolled as a graduate student in June.
"He excels in research," said Dan Meyers, Director of Communication University of Colorado School of Medicine. Holmes was not in medical school, but working at the research facility on campus.
Meyers is not willing to describe certain events that led to Holmes in-drop out. He simply declared Holmes "voluntarily left the program that began in June 2012. He was in the process of completing its drop-out procedures."
He said access to campus facilities Holmes stopped and confiscated his entry card. Now the university is still busy inspecting three research buildings, where Holmes might have worked. "We want to make sure everything is safe," said university spokeswoman, Erika Matich.
A federal law enforcement official said four weapons were found when they were known to catch Holmes purchased in the last six months in Denver and Aurora. Police said he used the AR 15 rifle, Remington shotgun, and pistol-caliber Glock 40. Police found another weapon in his white Hyundai car.
Federal law enforcement officials said Holmes buy weapons in May, June and July. A store even has the CCTV footage when he bought the gun.
Holmes graduated in the spring of 2010 with a degree in neuroscience from the University of California-Riverside. He is student achievement. He is known as one of awardees that can only be obtained on the basis of achievement.
"He's the best of the best," said university officials, Timothy White. That is why, shocked the campus community will connect Riverside. He said the campus community was "shocked and horrified".
