Water Polo Rule. Water polo is a team water sport, which can be regarded as a combination of swimming, wrestling, football and basketball. A team consists of six players and one goalkeeper. Resembles a game of soccer goals, which is to score as much as possible, the goal counted one point.
Water Polo sport is a sport that has long competed in Indonesia, even the sport has been contested at the First National Sports Week (PON-I) was held, to match the multi-event regional, national and international (Sea Games, Asian Games, Olympic Games and World Championships) to date.
Each team consists of 13 water polo athletes consisting of two goalkeepers and 11 players. Each team will compete wearing uniform is required (training / t), uniform trunks, water polo cap is numbered (1 s / d 13) are distinguished white or blue. Each water polo team lose six players with a goalie who uses a red cap, a total of 7 players.
Every official match the standards of the International regulations (FINA), the match led by 2 (two) people helped by the referee and linesman 2 people (Goal Judge), the old game is 8 minutes (Net) x 4 innings. Rest in each round 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 are 2 minutes while the rest in for round 2 to round 3 is 5 minutes. If the final score of the fourth round of the series, will be followed two extra rounds (2 x 8 min) to determine the winner, if still the case series, the game will continue with the shots 5 balls each per team, which is represented by five players from the penalty (5 meters).
In the era of the 1960s, development of the sport of water polo Indonesia is well developed so that is taken into account by other countries while the water polo team to follow international events such as Indonesia Ganefo, SEA Games, Asian Championships and Asian Games. Even the water polo team performance can be rated very good Indonesia. (Achievement can be seen below)
Entering the era of 2000, there were 9 provinces have done coaching the sport of water polo, as the province of Jambi, North Sumatra, South Sumatra, West Sumatra, South Sulawesi, West Java, East Java, Central Java and Jakarta. This sport has a lot of changes in regulations and is growing very rapidly.
